In 2016 we had two ERP information days – one at our Arklow, Co. Wicklow HQ in June and one in September in Dublin.  The format of the session is to bring a small group of companies who are interested in implementing a new ERP solution together in a room for a morning and explore the challenges of doing so.  In the process we typically identify solutions to common issues encountered.

Attendee numbers at the events have tended to be in the region of 5 to 10 companies, so everyone who wants to have an input can do so and there is time to field various questions around the subject matter.  The sessions are aimed at manufacturing and field service companies who are either looking at their first ERP solution, or are considering changing their current system.  Free to attend, companies are encouraged where relevant to bring a colleague or two as there can be a lot of information to take in.

The information morning starts with registration and coffee, providing an opportunity for attendees to network with one another and discuss their own perceptions of the process and any particular problems they have identified.  We then start into a presentation outlining our approach to implementing systems, a background to to our company and structure, and a brief overview of the ERP product.

Following a coffee break with more networking, we go into a more detailed product demonstration.  It is during this element of the day that the session can become interactive.  Questions from the audience are encouraged, and these will typically direct the sequence of the demonstration.  Through working together, we all understand a little about each others’ businesses, and from that we can begin to explore how EFACS can help to streamline, automate and enable communications within each business.  As a flexible and customisable software system, it is designed with the ability to be moulded to a given situation – in other words, don’t change how the business works, but change the software to reflect the business.

The flexibility of the EFACS product is illustrated in the diversity of our client base – with manufacturing and field service businesses in engineering, electronics, food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, plastics, assembly, argi-business all using different combinations of manufacturing methodologies including just in time, make to order, engineer to order, make to stock it is clear that no static, off the shelf ERP solution can handle all of these scenarios.
